This is an annual event opened to participants of all nationalities and gender from the ages of 4 to 35.
The Competition has the following categories:
- Free programme
- Examination Syllabus
- Piano Duos(Duets and 2 Pianos)
- Piano Chamber
(any ensemble consisting of at least 2 to 13 instruments of which the piano must be included)

The 3rd JMI Festival and Competition for Young Pianists took place from 4 to 10 September 2023. With the success of our previous years' competitions, we welcomed pianists from all over the world to compete on our LIVE and ONLINE platforms. Our LIVE competition allowed competitors to meet judges and fellow pianists in person and to challenge themselves to present their works in real life situations. For those who were unable to be in-person in Singapore, we offered the ONLINE option to allow competitors to present their works before our panel of judges in LIVE judging. The marking criteria ensured that LIVE competitors were not disadvantaged for their brave efforts. This annual competition is opened to all nationalisties, with the age limit extended to 35 for the Specialist Artist category.
