The 6th Joyeux Music International™ Piano Competition & Pedagogy Festival 2026 brings together performance, competition, masterclasses and music education in an expanded four-day international event in Singapore.
The Piano Competition welcomes participants through a wide range of LIVE and Online categories, including Piano Solo, Free Programme, Examination, Piano Duo, Chamber Music and Piano Concerto. Alongside the competition, the new Pedagogy Festival recognises the important role of music teachers through professional development, guest speakers, workshops, masterclasses and opportunities for continued musical and pedagogical growth. The Festival will culminate in a Gala Winners’ Concert, with date and venue to be announced soon.
We look forward to welcoming pianists, teachers and music educators to Singapore for this new exciting chapter of Joyeux Music International™.
MORE ABOUT JMI
Major artistic initiatives include the recurrent competitions — the Chopin International Piano Competition (April 2026), Beethoven International Piano Competition (April 2027), and the Joyeux Music International Piano Competition (held annually in September) — alongside flagship artistic events — Mozart International Festival (June 2025) and SHINE! Concerto in Perspective (June 2026).
Joyeux Sinfonietta, the resident orchestra conducted and directed by Josephine Koh, focuses on orchestral collaboration with soloists and young artists. The orchestra performs regularly in SHINE! Concerto in Perspective, as well as in other concerto initiatives and chamber orchestra projects presented by the organisation.
This latest event was held on 24 June 2026 at the Victoria Concert Hall. The concert was graced by special guests, with the support of the Embassy of Poland and representatives from various organizations and institutions. The next SHINE event will be held in 2028.
3rd Beethoven International Piano Competition & Bicentenary Festival 2027
Celebrating Beethoven 200 Years On — 1827–2027
In 2027, Joyeux Music International™ will commemorate the bicentenary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death with an expanded Beethoven International Piano Competition & Bicentenary Festival — a major celebration of the music, artistry and enduring legacy of one of the most influential composers in Western music.
Following the Singapore editions of the Beethoven International Piano Competition in 2022 and 2024, the 3rd Beethoven International Piano Competition will return in April 2027 as the centrepiece of a wider programme of performances, masterclasses, educational activities and musical exploration.
The Bicentenary Festival will celebrate Beethoven across the breadth of his musical output, extending beyond the solo piano repertoire to include piano music, chamber music, ensemble performances and selected concerto repertoire, bringing together performers of different ages and backgrounds in a shared exploration of Beethoven’s extraordinary musical world.
Through competition, performance, collaboration and education, the Festival will offer audiences and musicians opportunities to experience Beethoven from many perspectives — from the intimacy of the solo sonata and chamber repertoire to the scale and drama of his larger works.
The 2027 celebrations will culminate in a special Beethoven Bicentenary Concert in June 2027, presenting a broad musical programme and bringing together performers, teachers and musicians in celebration of Beethoven’s continuing influence two centuries after his death.

2nd Chopin International Piano Competition 2026 (Singapore Edition)
The LIVE competition has been concluded. The event was held on 7 and 8 April at Yamaha Music Salon, Thomson Plaza.
Prize winner Ethan Xuan (Advanced) and Foo Ming En (Intermediate) were awarded the performance prize and featured at Victoria Concert Hall at the Shine! event on 24 June.
JOYEUX MUSIC PEDAGOGY ACADEMY™
As an ABRSM Authorised Diploma Training Center, Joyeux Music Pedagogy Academy™ (JMPA) serves as the teacher-training division of the organisation. The academy provides structured mentorship for music educators preparing for the internationally recognised ABRSM Teaching Diplomas — ARSM and LRSM in Music Teaching. The programme is currently offered to piano and violin teachers . A separate cohort specially designed for ABRSM Teaching Diplomas in wind, brass, and voice will launch for application in end July for the October 2026 intake.

FLASHBACKS
The Joyeux Music International Competition for Pianists 2025 concluded with a spectacular Gala Prize Winners’ Concert on 14 September at the Alliance Française Theatre. Jury members present include: EunYoung Lee, Christine Octaviani and Dr Jipson Quah.
The evening was marked by innovation and artistry, featuring personalized screen presentations for every pianist. The Yamaha D7 grand piano, generously provided by Yamaha Music, took centre stage both as a solo instrument and in ensemble collaborations.
Presented by Josephine Koh, the concert showcased a seamless production with video works by Maggiore Productions and photography by Mount Studio. Adding to its international flair, the stage welcomed outstanding foreign performers: vocalist Alice Cahya Putri, pianists Belinda, Digna, and Ayanna Madeline who travelled from Indonesia, and Ng Joe Hynn, Gold Medalist and Liszt Award winner, who came from Malaysia.
The standard of performance was exceptionally high, with two pianists who have qualified into the National Piano and Violin Competition 2025. Each soloist offered a distinctive interpretation. While Alice captivated the audience with her powerful vocal renditions, the performance of Schubert’s Fantasie in F minor by Belinda and Digna was particularly moving, matched by the vibrant spirit of the young piano chamber group, whose string players incorporated subtle choreography into their performance.
The audience responded with warm enthusiasm throughout the evening, culminating in a celebratory prize-giving ceremony that brought the festival to a memorable close.
